When I got asked to make my very first website by a youth group I was involved back in 2005, I was so excited at the prospect of learning something totally foreign to me. Off I set researching, and playing with HTML code trying to make sense of it all…armed with Filezilla, Notepad, Paint, and a three-month trail of flash I made a website consisting of flash games, mp3′s, peoms, articles, maps, calendars…but the website fell into disrepair due to lack of attention.
Content Management Systems (CMS) have revolutionised the way websites work! Hope City Church implemented a CMS called Umbraco, mainly due to the fact one of their programmers had had experience before hand, in 2006. In 2008, they decided to ask Mop Head Designs to help re-design the website…so since July we have been doing just that. This – like the first time – has stretched our skills so much and improvement has been the result. We’re pretty proud of it and Hope City are as well. Check out the sliding drawer on the left!
